Renting the Ranch
Are you looking to rent the ranch? Find out more about rentals for school trips, business retreats, weddings and more. The best part about renting the Zajac Ranch is that proceeds go to funding the Zajac Camper Allowance. By taking advantage of our facilities and activities, you help children with life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions experience the magic of summer camp.
Zajac Ranch, 41 acres of beautiful wilderness and western-themed camp facilities, rests on the shores of Stave Lake in Mission, BC. The ranch is conveniently located one hour east of Vancouver, BC, and can comfortably host 100 guests.
Zajac Ranch for Children offers many varying activities including: horseback riding, rock climbing, canoeing and kayaking (dependent upon Stave Lake water levels), archery, a high ropes course, low ropes team building course, and lesson plans in orienteering, wilderness survival, and gold panning. Other activities that groups can take part in include swimming in our beautiful pool facility, using our amphitheater for self-led skits or talent shows, playing basketball in our gymnasium and/or using our full sized sporting field for soccer or baseball. The options are endless!

Accommodation
Three centrally-located lodges comprise the Ranch’s accommodations – Palomino, Pinto, and Mustang. Each lodge’s ground floor level sleeps 30 individuals in shared accommodations – bunk-beds with quality mattresses. The upper level of each lodge offers an additional 8 private and semi-private rooms – which can accommodate an additional 8-12 people. A limited number of medical beds with lifts are available. Bathrooms and lodges are wheelchair accessible. The main floor of each lodges is divided in the center, allowing for easy separation between boys and girls. Each dorm is equipped with its own washroom stalls and private showers. Additionally, Three teepees have been constructed as part of the First Nations Village. Each teepee is 28 feet tall, equipped with a fire pit, and can sleep 10 people. The Teepees are operational from late spring, through the summer into early fall.
Petting Zoo
Our petting zoo includes a wild assortment of farm animals: donkey, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, and a llama. Children of all ages connect with animals on various levels and, for many of our guests the petting zoo makes the trip to Zajac Ranch for Children all-the-more memorable.
Hospitality Areas
The Dining Hall has the capacity to seat 120 guests and has a state of the art kitchen. Our meals are prepared in accordance with the Canada Food Guide Standards. Our chef is always happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions and food allergies that a camper may have. Featuring a large barbeque, the covered outdoor picnic area is ideal for meals, receptions or informal outdoor meetings, rain or shine. Enjoy a BBQ and play bocce or a game of horseshoes, or relax in our outdoor seating area. Both the Dining Hall and Stakeout Area are fully wheelchair accessible.
Gymnasium
Our 60’ X 40’ maple-floored gymnasium receives plenty of natural light and is an excellent location for games, leadership activities, meetings, lectures and more. In warmer months, large retractable doors open to the outside making it easy to enjoy the fresh air while playing inside. Our Recreational Hall is wheelchair accessible.
Amphitheatre
The outdoor HYDRECS Amphitheatre provides a stage, seating for 120 and a fire pit for evening campfires to roast marshmallows. Seating in the Amphitheatre is multi-tiered and is wheelchair accessible on all tiers. The stage is fully wheelchair accessible too.
Equestrian Center
The barn area has stalls, a hayloft, large tack room and a seating area where you will spend time learning about horses and other farm animals. Our amenities include an indoor riding arena that can be used when the weather is less than ideal and an outdoor riding arena and trails – surrounded by forests, pastures, and a beautiful view of the mountains rising above Stave Lake. Each horse has an individual paddock with covered shelters and lush green pastures for summer grazing. The farm animals have cozy covered shelters in their paddocks and can be found most days in our large pasture where you can enjoy watching them frolic and play. The Zajac Ranch Equestrian facilities are equipped to provide a fun and exciting experience. Wheelchair ramps and a hydraulic lift help campers of all abilities enjoy a horseback ride.
Swimming Pool
Our newest facility at the Ranch is a 40ft x 80ft therapeutic swimming pool and therapeutic spa complete with an interactive water feature. The pool can accommodate 30 people at one time and has plenty of natural lighting. The pool complex is decorated with a mining theme. The pool and changing areas are fully wheelchair accessible.
Climbing Wall
Learn the basics of rock climbing on the Zajac Ranch rock climbing wall. Utilizing a similar philosophy as for our High Ropes activity; each participant can challenge themselves by simply putting on a harness, roping up, climbing the rope ladder, or, the entire climbing wall. Here, anyone pushing the boundaries of their comfort zone is achieving success.
Canoeing and Kayaking
From June – September, Zajac Ranch offers canoeing and kayaking for participants that wish to learn a bit more about sculling strokes, steering strokes, and how to effectively splash your friends. For those that have demonstrated their skills, a guided canoe trip may be in order.
Archery Area
Our archery range was constructed with beginner-level archers in mind. The ranch is equipped with 20 and 30lb bows. We also feature several ‘Balloons of Doom’!
High Ropes Alpine Challenge Course
The high ropes program is designed to challenge each camper to achieve personal goals and stretch their comfort zone to create success. Whether climbing the ladder, putting on a harness or completing the full element, 30ft off of the ground, each camper chooses how far they want to go and can discover things they thought they could never do.
Low Ropes Team Development Course
Our low ropes course offers a variety of challenges to develop both team and personal goals in a safe and supportive environment. The course may be used recreationally or as a tool to work on specific outcomes such as teambuilding and communication. Our low ropes program consists of over five different low ropes challenges built along a path leading into the forest.
