The Leadership in Training program (LIT) offers campers aged 16 to 17* an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and apply them in a camp environment. During this five day training, LITs will begin to develop their own leadership style and gain confidence through a variety of sessions, including: goal setting, team building, communication, and mentorship. This program is ideal for any camper looking to grow as a leader while continuing to enjoy the exciting, fun, and accessible camp programming we are known for.
LIT Camp overlaps with our Mixed Medical Camp #1. LIT participants will be working alongside children with a variety of varying medical concerns – largely children connected with Children’s Heart Network and BC Children’s Hospital’s hematology and gastrointestinal clinics. The nominal camp fee charged for our LIT program includes three meals per day, accommodations, and leadership support from our Zajac Ranch camp staff.
Also, be sure to check out the Counsellor in Training Program (CIT). CIT is perfect for campers aged 17-18* who are interested in developing the skills necessary to be an effective and engaging camp staff in a summer camp environment.
*Please note – the ages listed for LIT and CIT are a guide; applicants outside of this age range may be accepted. Each application must be approved by both the Nursing Director and the Camp Director.
